Compensation: Negotiable based on experience


Role Summary

The NetSuite Technical Proxy serves as the primary technical troubleshooter for the organization's ERP and related business systems. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), this role diagnoses complex NetSuite issues, drafts technical solutions, and develops SuiteScript/JavaScript automations.


This position follows a structured "Propose & Execute" workflow. All production code changes and workflow updates require CTO review and written approval prior to deployment.



Key Responsibilities

1. Diagnostic & Root Cause Analysis

  • Investigate NetSuite error logs, execution contexts, and script failures (User Event, Client Scripts, Map/Reduce, and Scheduled Scripts).
  • Reproduce reported issues and identify root causes.
  • Conduct gap analysis to determine whether issues require patches or new automation logic.

2. Solution Design & Code Proposal

  • Develop clean, maintainable SuiteScript (2.0/2.1) and JavaScript solutions.
  • Prepare concise technical briefs for CTO review, including: Problem summary
  • Root cause
  • Proposed code solution
  • Risk assessment
  • Test and validate all fixes in the Sandbox before production consideration.

3. Execution & Deployment

  • Deploy approved solutions to production following CTO authorization.
  • Develop automation solutions such as record transformations, validation scripts, and process automation to reduce recurring user errors.

4. User Liaison

  • Translate user-reported issues into technical diagnoses.
  • Communicate status updates and resolution details clearly to stakeholders.


Required Qualifications

  • Advanced experience with SuiteScript 1.0 and 2.x (Client, User Event, Scheduled, Map/Reduce, Suitelet, Portlet).
  • Strong JavaScript proficiency (ES6+), including asynchronous logic and JSON data handling.
  • Experience designing Saved Searches and SuiteQL queries.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow structured change-control processes.
  • Ability to work on-site and collaborate directly with executive leadership.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with NetSuite integrations (RESTlets, SOAP/REST APIs).
  • Node.js experience for system integrations.
  • Prior ERP troubleshooting or systems architecture experience.
